PURPLE SEA MOSS scientifically known as Gracilaria is a genius of red algae (Rhodophyta)notable for its economic importance used as a food for human and various species of shellfish. Various species within genius are cultivates among the Caribbean for nutritional use. It has antioxidants called Anthocyanins, which are associated with purple and blue vegetables and fruits.
