- 4 cups of dried sea moss (1/2 cup of sea moss will make 2 cups of gel)
- 2 cups of water
- 2 cups of milk (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla or a few drops of vanilla essence
Put the water and sea moss in a large pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add the milk and vanilla, stir and bring back to a boil. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes. Take off heat and let cool. Pour into glass jars and cover. It will thicken as it cools.
To retain the jelly-like consistency, place the jars in a bowl of cold water. To store, cover the jar with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator for up to 30days. Add more sea moss if you need to make more gel. This recipe can also be used for making sea moss tea.
